6 Natural Ways to Prevent and Remove Pregnancy Stretch Marks

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Its an exciting time and it doesnt have to involve stretch marks! There are many things you can do to prevent stretch marks:

1. Aloe Vera:

This would be the most common remedy and popular with pregnant women. Aloe Vera has a clear gel which contains plant collagen which is beneficial in all skin repair. Collagen is the protein that makes our skin elastic, maintaining suppleness and that youthful look. Apply by removing the outer layer of the leaf to release the sticky gel underneath. Use this gel on the stretch marks and was off a couple of hours later.

2. Lemon Juice:

The vitamin C component of Lemon juice ensures the production of collagen. Cut a lemon in half and rub half over the area. Leave for 10 minutes and wash off.

3. Potato Juice:

Potatoes are full of vitamins and minerals and enhance the growth and repair of skin cells. To easily apply, cut a potato into thin slices and just rub on the skin for 5-10 minutes. The juice will dry so just leave it for 3-4 minutes before washing off.

4. Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter:

With anti-aging properties this very effective moisturizer promotes circulation and reduces stretch marks. Using cocoa butter with Shea butter and Vitamin E you are creating a product that is rich in antioxidants and Vitamin. Antioxidants protect the skin by preventing free radicals from damaging the skin. Vitamin E neutralizes free radicals, preventing any cellular damage, thus protecting and repairing the skin. Here’s an easy recipe for cocoa-Shea butter: Cocoa butter – 2 teaspoons Shea butter – 2 teaspoons Vitamin E – 1 teaspoon Melt the cocoa butter and Shea butter. Add the Vitamin E and mix well. Once it cools down it will solidify. Store in an airtight container.

5.  Castor Oil:

This is an age-old recipe for many ailments, including stretch marks. Stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, it promotes the tissues in the skin to resume their shape after pregnancy. Massage into the skin in a circular motion for 15 minutes. Then wrap the area with thin and clean cotton cloth. Apply heat using a hot water bottle or heating pad. Do this once a day for 30 minutes. It will usually take around 1 month to get the best results.

6. Almond Oil, Lavender Oil, and Chamomile Oil mix:

Vitamin Rich oils, these essential oils work to repair the skin and remove the stretch marks. Mix together 2 teaspoons almond oil, ½ teaspoon of lavender and ½ tsp of chamomile oil. Massage onto the area in a circular motion.

7. St Johns Wort:

St. John’s Wort oil is my favorite because it prevented my own stretch marks. I used it repeatedly for several months and never got a mark. Its great for the tummy and for perineal massage. But be warned, dont drink as a tea when you are pregnant.
